Rapper Sean Kingston and his mother pleaded not guilty to charges of defrauding multiple businesses of over $1 million. They entered the pleas during an arraignment hearing before Broward Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra. Bond was set at $90,000, and no changes were made during the hearing. They pleaded not guilty to organized fraud and grand theft charges.
Kingston was originally arrested in California in May on a warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff’s Office after a raid on his home. He and his mother were accused of defrauding multiple businesses since October 2023, including a jewelry business, luxury bed company, exotic car dealership, and a luxury microLED TV company.
The rapper and his mother are expected back in court on October 11 and are also facing related charges in federal court. Kingston first gained fame in 2007 with the hit song “Beautiful Girls” and has faced legal troubles in the past, including a lawsuit over unpaid jewelry and a jet ski accident that led to a settlement.
