Zach Neto hits another home run as Angels defeat Royals in a close game – Daily News

Tyler Anderson led the Los Angeles Angels to a 9-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals, becoming the first left-handed pitcher for the team to win 10 games in a season since 2016. The Angels broke out offensively, taking a 7-2 lead before the Royals mounted a comeback in the seventh inning. Anderson, who had been dominant through six innings, allowed four consecutive hits leading to a three-run rally by the Royals. However, Hunter Strickland came in to limit the damage and secure the win for the Angels.

Zach Neto’s 424-foot homer in the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie and set the stage for the Angels’ offensive outburst. Logan O’Hoppe and Anthony Rendon contributed run-scoring hits, and the Angels added two more runs in the seventh inning. Despite Anderson giving up 12 hits, the Angels were able to hold on for the win.

The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Angels, while the Royals saw their six-game winning streak come to an end. Kansas City starter Cole Ragans went five innings, allowing five runs (four earned) and taking the loss to fall to 10-8 on the season.

The Angels improved to 54-72 with the win, while the Royals dropped to 70-56. More details on this game and the standout performances will be provided as the story develops.
