LOS ANGELES – Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux’s home run on July 11 marked the beginning of an offensive onslaught that has carried on for six weeks. Despite a slow start to the season, Lux has significantly improved his performance, helping the Dodgers maintain their lead in the National League West. Lux’s OPS has risen from .562 to .704, and he has hit seven home runs in the past 33 games.
In addition to Lux’s contributions, third baseman Max Muncy also made a successful return to the lineup on Monday after a three-month absence due to injuries. Muncy’s goal is to continue delivering productive plate appearances and be a role model for younger players on the team.
Utility player Chris Taylor is expected to be activated soon after being sidelined with a groin injury in July. With the return of Muncy and utility player Tommy Edman, the Dodgers are close to having a full lineup once again.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has announced that right-handed reliever Blake Treinen will be activated for Wednesday’s game after a brief stint on the injured list. Treinen had a couple of rough outings in July but has shown promise with consecutive scoreless innings recently.
The Dodgers will face the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, with Logan Gilbert pitching for the Mariners and Jack Flaherty for the Dodgers. The game will be broadcast on SportsNet LA, MLB Network, and 570 AM.
