A video posted on Instagram shows a North Carolina home collapsing into the Atlantic ocean in Rodanthe on Hatteras Island. The house was knocked off its foundation by waves, falling into the ocean and being tossed back and forth. No injuries were reported as the home was unoccupied at the time. Officials have closed off beaches around Rodanthe and warned of dangerous debris in the water. This is the seventh house collapse in four years along the North Carolina beaches. The National Park Service is working with the home’s owner to remove debris once the sea conditions improve. The area is under a coastal flooding advisory due to Tropical Storm Ernesto, causing dangerous beach conditions. The beaches will remain closed until the advisory is lifted on Monday.
