James Norman met his soulmate, Tanel Jan, in a gay nightclub in Melbourne in 2010. Tanel, originally from Estonia, had just arrived in Australia on a working holiday visa. Despite his casual job in hospitality, Tanel was a scriptwriter with a love for nature and a strong belief in love and spirituality. As their relationship blossomed, they enjoyed a trip to Kings beach in New South Wales, where James realized Tanel was his soulmate.
Their relationship was solidified by winning a Mardi Gras competition and celebrating in style. Now, 14 years later, they are still happily together, living in Tanel’s hometown of Tartu in Estonia. Despite their differences, they balance each other and enjoy the beauty of springtime in Tartu.
James considers himself the luckiest man in the world to have found Tanel, who knows how to love and appreciate the small joys in life. Their relationship is not always easy, but their shared love for each other and nature keeps them strong. As they continue to navigate life together, they find joy in the simple moments and cherish the love they have found in each other.
