The attorneys argue that the short period of time between the judge’s decision and the sentencing date does not give Trump enough time to file a proper appeal if necessary. The Manhattan district attorney’s office has declined to comment on the matter. The attorneys also raised concerns about a congressional inquiry into the judge’s daughter’s work, alleging that it has led to death threats and reputational damage for both the judge’s daughter and the company she works for.
