Multiple people were injured in Hawthorne after fleeing police in a vehicle that crashed into a building on Sunday morning. The incident began when officers responded to an assault and a report of someone pointing a gun from a Chevrolet Silverado. One person was caught while four others fled in the truck at high speed despite police commands. The pursuit ended when the driver lost control, crashing into a building. Two males exited the vehicle on their own, while two females had to be rescued by fire crews. Three of those involved were treated for serious injuries but are now stable. A firearm was recovered near the scene. Police are not searching for any other suspects and say there is no ongoing threat to the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives.
