Katie Ledecky solidified her status as one of swimming’s greats by claiming her ninth gold medal at the Paris Olympics in the 800-metre freestyle event. The American swimmer equaled the record for the most gold medals won by a woman in any Olympic sport. Meanwhile, Canadian teenager Summer McIntosh continued to impress by winning her third gold medal in the games, this time in the 200-metre individual medley. McIntosh showcased her talent with a strong finish, adding to her previous gold and silver medals in the competition. The 17-year-old expressed pride in her achievements and credited her hard work and dedication for her success.
Hungary’s Kristof Milak secured his second Olympic gold in the men’s 100-metre butterfly event, adding to his silver in the 200-metre butterfly. The Hungarian swimmer narrowly edged out Canadian Josh Liendo to claim victory.
In the final event of the night, the United States broke the world record in the mixed 4×100-metre medley relay, outperforming China and Australia. The American team, comprised of Ryan Murphy, Nic Fink, Gretchen Walsh, and Torri Huske, showcased their strength and precision in the relay race.
