Orange County youth coach Christopher Martin Flores was convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and a young woman. The Superior Court jury found him guilty of multiple felony charges, including lewd acts on a child and sexual penetration by a foreign object. Sentencing is set for October 4.
Known as “Coach Frogg” in Orange County athletic circles, Flores worked with high-profile athletes like Bryce Young and DJ Uiagalelei. He was a co-owner, trainer, and coach at the Stars Prep Academy, a renowned sports performance training facility for middle school athletes in Southern California.
The assaults allegedly occurred in 2021, with accusations of inappropriate touching, kissing, and digital penetration. Flores is also accused of sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman during a party in 2022. At least two other teenagers have made similar allegations against him.
Flores denies any wrongdoing, but was taken into custody after the verdict was announced. The Stars academy severed ties with him in 2022, following the initial charges. Prosecutors claim Flores used his position of trust to prey on young teenagers.
The Orange County Register reported that the former soccer player at Calvary Chapel High School in Santa Ana, who was 14 at the time, was the first to come forward with allegations against Flores in January 2021.
Additional allegations have been made against Flores, with the prosecution claiming that he used his position to take advantage of vulnerable teenagers. City News Service contributed to this report on the case.
