The Hart football team kicked off their fall camp on Monday with a fresh energy and many changes in store for the upcoming season. Under new head coach Jake Goossen-Brown, the team is implementing a new playbook and transitioning to a new mascot, the Hawks. Players like lineman Wade Cobb IV and quarterback Jacob Paisano will have starting positions for the first time, bringing excitement and optimism to the team.
The offense is undergoing a makeover with a focus on more running plays, while the defense is still finding its identity during fall camp. The team is confident in their explosive and unpredictable nature, with Paisano highlighting their ability to present different looks to opponents. The Hart community is embracing the change, with the bold “H” logo and traditional “Hart” scripted lettering remaining prominent in the branding.
In addition to Hart’s transformations, the 2024 season will bring league realignment, including the debut of the Conejo Coast League and Channel League. Other changes include Alemany moving into the Angelus League and new turf being installed at El Camino Real for the upcoming season. The Royals’ playing surface was deemed unplayable in 2022, but a new field and scoreboard have now been installed, allowing the team to finally have a home field advantage.
The upcoming season promises excitement and competitiveness for high school football teams in the Daily News area, with new leadership, new plays, and revamped facilities setting the stage for a thrilling season ahead.
