Tadej Pogacar continued his dominance at the Tour de France by winning the 20th stage and capturing his fifth stage victory of the race. The Slovenian rider equaled a Tour record by winning five mountain stages in one race, a feat only accomplished by Gino Bartali in 1948. Pogacar extended his lead over defending champion Jonas Vingegaard to more than five minutes, all but securing his second Tour de France title. The final stage of the race will take place on Sunday with a time trial from Monaco to Nice. Pogacar is on track to complete a rare Giro d’Italia and Tour de France double, a feat last achieved by the late Marco Pantani in 1998. Despite his dominance, Pogacar showed sportsmanship by waiting for Vingegaard to cross the line with him after their intense battle on the final climb of Col De La Couillole. Vingegaard, who made a remarkable recovery from a high-speed crash earlier in the year, praised Pogacar for his performance and acknowledged that he gave his all on the challenging stage. Stay tuned for the final stage of the Tour de France to see if Pogacar can secure his well-deserved victory.
