CrowdStrike CEO Addresses Crowd After Outage


The CEO of cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike has issued a statement following a massive Microsoft outage caused by an update to its ‘Falcon Sensor’. The company has identified and isolated the issue, deploying a fix, and apologised for the impact on customers experiencing the Blue Screen of Death error. The bug has affected stock exchanges, supermarkets, and flight operations globally, but Mac- and Linux-based systems remain unaffected. The outage is not a security incident or cyberattack, and CrowdStrike is working with affected customers to ensure recovery. Microsoft has also stated its commitment to resolving the issue and providing continuous improvements. In response to the outage, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team has issued workarounds for affected users. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz has expressed regret for the disruption caused and assured customers that his company is fully mobilised to ensure their security and stability. He has promised to ensure that every customer is fully recovered from the impact of the outage. News agencies have quoted him as saying that while some systems may take time to recover fully, his company will ensure all customers are back up and running.
