Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson tragically lost his life in a car crash in Maryland. He was one of three people who died in the overnight three-car crash in Prince George’s County. The team released a statement expressing devastation over Jackson’s passing and highlighting his resilience and determination. Jackson, a fourth-round draft pick, was poised to compete for a starting role at the team’s training camp.
The other victims of the crash were Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr., both former high school teammates of Jackson. The trio had won state championships together at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High in Maryland. They were all in the same vehicle at the time of the accident.
Police reported that the driver of a second vehicle involved in the crash was traveling at a high speed and collided with the car carrying Hazel, Jackson, and Lytton. Alcohol is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash, and charges are pending as the investigation continues.
Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and coach Kevin O’Connell expressed their condolences to Jackson’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches. Known for his ambition and dedication, Jackson’s loss has deeply impacted the team and the football community. The tragic event serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of safe driving practices.
