Reid Detmers, once considered the ace of the Los Angeles Angels, has embraced his demotion to Triple A after struggling in his last eight starts. The lefty pitcher is focusing on improving his fastball command and making his pitches less predictable in order to earn his way back to the majors. Despite a 5.70 ERA in Triple A, Detmers remains confident in his ability to regain his form and contribute to the Angels when called upon. Pitching coach Shane Loux and the Triple A staff are working with Detmers to fine-tune his location and mindset, with the goal of helping him succeed at the major league level. Although he has not heard from Angels manager Ron Washington or GM Perry Minasian, Detmers remains focused on his job of getting outs and believes in his ability to make a return to the team. While the decision ultimately lies with the organization, Detmers is determined to show that he is ready to help the Angels in their playoff push. Despite facing challenges and setbacks, Detmers remains optimistic about his future in the league and is working hard to prove himself on the mound.
